Paddy Pallin values your privacy. This Policy applies to the personal information we collect both online and offline, including when you access or use our websites (our “Services”), shop in our stores, attend our events, contact customer support, interact with us on social media, join our club membership programs, apply for a job, or otherwise interact with us. 

By engaging in the above activities, you acknowledge that we will handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

In some cases, we may provide different or additional policies or notices about our information practices. For instance, we may provide different privacy policies or notices for certain programs or activities, or subsidiaries or affiliates, in which case this Policy will not apply.

What Is Personal Information?

Personal information is information that identifies you, or from which your identity can reasonably be determined. Personal information we collect includes but is not limited to, names, addresses, email, and phone numbers.

We collect information about you directly and from other third parties, as well as through the automated process of capturing your interactions with our Services and other instances where we interact, this may include:

 

Information You Supply to Us Directly.  We collect information when you: make a purchase from us, create an online account or an online profile, sign up for Club Membership, access and use our Services, sign up for e-mails, participate in contests, promotions, customer experience surveys, and events, engage with us via social media platforms, as well as when you communicate with us via call, chat, email, or any other method.

The kinds of information we may collect include your name, address, phone number, email, and postcode, as well as photos, videos, social media usernames, information about your interests, demographic information, outdoor activity and travel preferences, the content you post to the interactive areas of our Services, and any other information you choose to provide. We, or our third-party payment processors collect and process your payment information when you provide it to us.

In certain circumstances, where necessary, such as when you register for a Paddy Pallin Experiences event, or other Paddy Pallin community engagement, we may collect additional information from you. This may include details such as medical history, health and disability information, dietary requirements, fitness condition, and emergency contact information.

In some instances, we may collect information you provide about others, such as when you buy a gift or e-gift card for someone and request direct shipping to them, or when you provide emergency contact details for an event. This information will be used solely to fulfill your requests, and we won't send unrelated communications to your contacts unless they engage with us separately or explicitly consent to receive communications from us.
 

Information Gathered from Other Sources. For example:

• From our data analytics and advertising partners, we gather demographic information as well as details about consumer preferences, interests, and opinions.
  We have access to certain information from third-party social media platforms and related services (such as Instagram, Facebook, Woobox). The data that can be collected includes your name, email address, friends list, public profile information, and more. We may collect any and all the data available to us as allowed by the authorization protocols established by the platform in question.
• We collect content you make public in connection with our services, campaigns, and products, including photos, videos, and profile information.
• In regards to certain financial products, we receive pertinent information from the financial institution as it relates to our business, including whether your application was approved or denied, and aggregated information about your transactional history.
• Through our Services, we gather to address and contact information about you that has been disclosed by other users, such as when they send gifts or e-gift cards to you or allocate you as their emergency contact. This information will be used solely to fulfill their requests.
• We obtain information from our partners that provide or lead Paddy Pallin Experience Series events and other affiliated events, such as contact information and the feedback participants provide.
   

Information We Collect Automatically. When you access or use the Services or shop in our stores, we automatically collect certain information about you, including:

• Transactional Information: When you make a transaction with us, we collect certain information which includes but is not limited to, product details, purchase price, and the date and location of the transaction.
• Your Usage and Device: We collect data about the device you use to access our Services as well as your usage of our Services. This includes details such as the browser type, hardware model, operating system, mobile network information, IP address, unique device identifiers, access times, viewed pages, items added to your cart, clicked links, browsing patterns, and the webpage visited prior to reaching our Services.
• Video Recordings, Photos, Chat and Audio Content, and In-Store Heat Mapping: We capture photographs and video recordings in our stores and other facilities for security and loss prevention purposes. To understand how our stores are used, we engage a service that tracks radio frequency density output from smartphones. This technology does not identify the phone of the person using it. If you contact customer service through our chat feature or by phone, we may monitor and retain those conversations, including for training purposes. 
• Data Gathered By Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies:  Our Services use cookies, web beacons, such as web bug and pixel tags, and other tracking technologies to learn more about how you prefer to interact with us. For example, we collect data on your browsing and purchasing behaviour and your other engagements with our Services. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory. They enable us to improve our Services and your experience. Web beacons are electronic images employed by our Services including in our emails to facilitate the delivery of cookies, track visits, and gain insights into usage and the effectiveness of campaigns. • Geolocation Information: In accordance with your device permissions, we may collect information about the approximate region of your device 

Information We Infer or Derive About You:

• From the information we gather about you (as outlined above), we may make inferences about your preferences to customise your experience with our Services. For example, we may infer that you are looking to purchase new boots or a tent, or other products based on your website browsing behaviour and transactional history, in like vein we may infer you need care instructions or trail tips to optimise your outdoor adventures.

How Does Paddy Pallin Use Your Personal Information?

We use the information we collect about you to provide the products and services you request and customise your experience with us. We also use the information we collect to:

• assist you in completing your transactions with us;
• enhance and optimise your shopping experience both in-store and online.
• provide, maintain, and enhance our Services;
• administer your membership and communicate with you about Paddy Pallin Club Members initiatives and special offers exclusive to Members
• develop and deliver enhanced products and services
• assist transactions and returns including the provision of confirmations, receipts, invoices, customer experience surveys, aftercare information, and recall notices
• handle your account management, offer technical support, and send you important updates, security alerts, support messages, and other transactional or relationship-related communications. 
• to improve website security, prevent security incidents, fraudulent transactions, and other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activities and to help protect the rights and property of Paddy Pallin and others;
• respond to your comments and questions and provide customer service;
• keep you informed about Paddy Pallin and partner products, services, offers, surveys, customer experience research, advocacy and stewardship initiatives, news, events, and other relevant information that may interest you.
• If you no longer wish to receive any of our promotional emails, you can unsubscribe via the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the email you received from us. Users who are registered with us may opt out in the ‘Subscription’ section of their account dashboard. 

However, you need to acknowledge that using our Services requires us to send you transactional emails (e.g. purchase receipts) that you are unable to opt out of. If you do not agree to this, then we recommend terminating the use of our Services immediately. 

• fulfill our legal and financial obligations;
• monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities related to our Services, stores, and experiences;
• customise and personalise the content and information that we provide to you, including location customisation and personalised recommendations, and assistance based on your purchases and interests

• administer promotions and contests (for example process entries, distribute rewards, and deliver prizes); and

Although you do not have to share your personal information with us, without it we may not be able to provide our products or services to you.

We may engage with third parties to provide analytics, serve advertisements and perform related tasks across the web and in mobile applications. When Does Paddy Pallin Share Your Personal Information?

In certain situations, we may disclose (or permit others to directly collect) information about you. The list below describes when and to whom we disclose the categories of personal information described in the "What Personal Information Do We Collect?" section above:

• with service providers who carry out transactions or provide services on our behalf. This includes tasks related to our business and internal operations, such as shipping, gift card administration, payment processing, financial products, fraud prevention, customer service management, event operations, market research, analytics, marketing, personalisation, data enrichment, and advertising.
• Some of our third-party service providers perform the functions we have engaged them for in overseas locations. We will take reasonable steps in the circumstances for any overseas use or disclosure of personal information to be done in a way that complies with privacy laws and relevant data security industry standards. It is likely that your personal information will be sent to the following countries: China, India, Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore, Britain and the European Union, and the United States. 
• when you use the interactive features of our Services, such as when you create a profile, post comments and other content, or write reviews. The content shared for public display may include your photos, videos, comments, product reviews, stories, posts, product questions, and answers, wish lists, details regarding your participation in outdoor activities, and any other content or information you decide to share in the interactive sections of our Services. • between and among Paddy Pallin and any current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other entities under common control and ownership; and

Furthermore, we may disclose aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot be used to identify you. Paddy Pallin handles, retains, and utilizes this information solely in a de-identified manner, without any intention of re-identifying such data, except when authorized by law.

 

How Do We Secure Your Personal Information?

Paddy Pallin is committed to the protection of your Personal Information, and we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including, from misuse, interference and loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, some of the steps we take to protect your information include:

• utilising security restrictions on access to our systems such as passwords, firewalls and anti-virus software
• taking measures to protect the physical security of our premises, document management systems database, data back-up and records.
• Taking measures so our team members also adhere to internal information security policies.
  Taking all reasonable measures to keep your personal information accurate. However, you may choose not to identify yourself when dealing with us, for example by using a pseudonym or remaining anonymous to protect your identity. In this case there may be numerous instances where we are not able to provide our services.
• If we no longer need your personal information we will destroy or de-identify it
• taking all reasonable steps to provide a securely hosted and operated website. It is important that you ensure your security online as well, by checking that you are accessing our secure server, for example note the lock symbol to the right-hand side of the Paddy Pallin URL in your browser.
• Protecting your credit card details with the industry standard for the secure handling of credit card data, ensuring that your financial data is protected by encryption tools. To protect your personal information, you should ensure that you do not share your credit card details with us by any other means for example in an e-mail or chat.
• We have measures in place to detect and prevent online fraud or suspicious activity. In certain cases, we may request additional information from you to verify your identity and payment details (for example, if you have never shopped online with us before or if your payment details need to be verified with our payment providers). As part of this process, we may ask you to provide redacted (masked) copies of your ID and the credit card used to place your online order
• If information is requested from you in order to verify your identity and payment, there may be a delay with the despatch of your order. You will receive a follow up email once your order has been approved.

There is no obligation for you to provide this information, but if we are unable to verify your identity, we may not be able to finalise your online order.

This information will be used for verification purposes only. Once your details have been verified, the verification information you have provided will be deleted.

How Do You Access And Correct Your Personal Information?

You may access and correct your personal information related to your use of our products and services. Where this information is held in your online account, simply sign into your account and click on your name on the top navigational menu - this will take you to your account dashboard.

You may also access, and request correction of your personal information held by us by submitting this webform or contacting Paddy Pallin Customer Service at paddyinfo@paddypallin.com.au

Please provide us with your name and best contact number so we can verify your identity and respond to your request. We will acknowledge receipt of your email as soon as reasonably possible. We may charge a fee to cover the reasonable costs incurred by us in providing you with the information (the fee does not apply to the making of the request).

If we refuse to comply with your request, we will let you know why.

Privacy

Paddy Pallin have in place reasonable security arrangements to ensure that your Personal Information is adequately protected and secured and to prevent any misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access or disclosure of your Personal Information. Paddy Pallin will never sell your personal information to anyone. 

Personal information provided will only be used to process your order and for marketing purposes such as to notify you of upcoming events, changes to the website or special promotions.  We do not sell or rent the information you provide to us online to third parties. In the course of conducting business we may disclose your personal information to trusted third party partners under a secure agreement. We do not disclose Personal Information we collect to third parties for the purpose of allowing them to direct market their products and services to you.

If our information practices change in the future, we will let you know by posting the policy changes on our Web site or by communicating directly with you. We will notify you of any such change before we use your information in a manner not previously disclosed. You will have the opportunity at that time to opt out of any new use of your information.

Security

Paddy Pallin uses secure banking gateways, for our real time card validation and transaction processing. Paddy Pallin uses Braintree banking gateway for all online credit/debit card and PayPal transactions through our site.
Payments using ZipPay are processed through the ZipPay merchant Portal. Payments using Afterpay are processed through the Afterpay merchant portal.  

In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its rules on reporting and procedures.
